Good Vibrations

In Science1M have been investigating sound. This week we looked at objects that produce sound and how those objects vibrate for sound to occur. We looked at this by using a balloon. With a partner we took turns talking into a balloon and listening to what we could hear and feel as the person spoke. After our investigation we discovered that even though sound is invisible you can feel it through vibrations. We also learnt that sound can travel through  objects and that some objects can cause sound to travel faster and also make it louder. 

Easter Hat Parade

On Thursday, it was the Easter Hat Parade. It was great to see all the amazing hats students made and to see the big smiles on the boys and girls faces as they were parading around. 

Well done for winning a prize for your creative Easter hat Heidi!

Easter Hat Making

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the parents and Year 5 helpers who came in today to help 1M make their Easter hats. We have some pretty amazing looking hats thanks to you guys.  We really appreciate all your help. Thank you!  :)

Easter Hat Making

1M will be making their Easter hats in class on Tuesday 22nd of March. Below is a copy of the note that went home to parents today.

Length

This week in maths 1M looked at measuring the length of different objets. We talked about some of the things we could use to measure length and how to be accurate while measuring.

Here are some great pictures Mrs Downes took of 1M estimating the length of some objects and then using centicubes and base ten blocks to find out the answer. 

Assembly

On Tuesday we had our first assembly for 2016. It was great to listen to some of the exciting things that are happening at our school and to celebrate students work and achievements.

At this assembly Christian Discovery awards were handed out. Congratulations to our 1M award winners; Xander, Josh and Heidi. Great Job!

Well done also to all of 1M for beautiful assembly manners. Congratulations on winning best assembly class for week 6! :)

Year 12 Buddies

On Wednesday morning our Year 12 Buddies; Daniel, Kyle, Emily and Elisha came to visit. 1M really enjoyed meeting the Year 12 students and asking them lots of questions. Our buddies will be visiting us each term and we will be praying for them as they prepare for their half yearly exams and HSC. Here are some great photos Mrs Frances took.
