We have a Christmas tree! 1M would like to say a big thank you to the Tideswell family for letting us use their spare Christmas tree. We had so much fun decorating the tree and are looking forward to making some more decorations to hang on its branches.

Christmas Around the World
This week 1M took
a trip around the world (well sort of.) In small groups we looked at how
different countries celebrate Christmas. Each group had a different country and
had to use their research skills to find out about how their country celebrates
Christmas. When we completed our research, it was time to explore some of the
Christmas traditions of other countries. Each group traveled to a different
place and learnt about how that place celebrates Christmas. We collected souvenirs
from each country and discussed how the traditions of other countries are
similar and different to our own.

Carols
This Thursday Mount Annan Christian College will be holding its annual Christmas Carols Concert. Students from 1G and 1M will be presenting a Christmas carol together. We will be singing Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Students are asked to dress in all white and wear angel wings if possible. We hope you can make it! Looking forward to hearing all our lovely students sing. :)

Tinkertime
We are very excited to be involved in more Tinkertime activities this term.
For the next three weeks Year 1 will be working with Year 9 Stem_Ed student leaders on Friday afternoons in groups to create some environments of the future.
Yesterday Year 1 students took home a little invite flyer which was created for them by the Stem_Ed students as their invitation to participate.
No action from parents or families is required in response to the flyers, it's main purpose was just to inform and make the younger students feel involved and welcomed into the project.
Thank you to those families who have made inquiries about this valuable program, we apologise for any confusion and look forward to a great time of learning and fun.

Motion Mission
In science, 1M have been looking at how and why things move. This week we completed a series of tasks that involved manipulating objects in order to observe and record the causes and effects of motion. We discovered that the way things move depend on the size and shape of the object as well as the force applied to it.
